Fancast.com, a Method-designed website (read the case study), has launched the Fancast Store. Featuring thousands of movies and TV shows, all Fancast Store videos play on any PC via a free downloadable player, and can be watched while they are still downloading.
Comcast Corp. has reached agreements with several major content providers to offer their shows on Fancast.com. The Philadelphia-based cable operator has inked deals with ABC, CW, Showtime, HBO and The Food Network to offer free ad-supported TV episodes and clips. Additional ad-free content is available for rent or purchase.
Future plans for Fancast include the expansion into other areas of the entertainment sector and additional device support, including a mobile application and set-top box integration.
