OverviewA UX Designer supports Method design teams in creating excellent user experience design and deliverables for Method projects, according to user-centered design principles and Method standards. The UX Designer will work with other Method designers to execute design tasks, as directed by the project UX lead, including project planning, research and analysis, requirements definition, product and interaction concepts, and interaction specifications, on a variety of platforms, including the Web, mobile devices, television, and product interfaces. The User Experience Designer will use his or her time on Method UX projects to learn and refine user experience design skills.
Primary Responsibilities-Work with senior creative staff to develop and practice skills in discovery, user research and analysis, requirements definition, conceptual design, content planning, interaction planning, and interaction specification.
-Creating user experiences that can be mapped directly to the business and user requirements of the project. Represent these solutions to other team members and the client.
-With guidance from the lead UX designer, creating project deliverables that clearly and persuasively communicate the UX strategy. These deliverables include: project plans, discovery findings, research protocols, research findings, personas, task lists, workflows, wireframes, page maps, interaction and behavior specifications, and anything else required to describe UX plans and strategies. Creating these deliverables to Method specifications and within described project timeframes.
-Work collaboratively with team members from different disciplines (product management, strategy, visual design, and technology) to arrive at appropriate solutions. Continually improve upon presentation skills with a desire to learn facilitation and compelling ways to articulate design decisions to clients .
-Constructive participation in UX team and studio workshops to develop and refine best practices and processes.
-Staying abreast of industry best practices for UX design and processes, and for any project, gathering sufficient information to support appropriate UX design for the given platform and technology.
-Taking on any UX or other project tasks required by the studio, as directed by a Director, UX.
Qualifications-An exceptional portfolio showcasing innovative and user-centered design solutions for interactive projects.
-2+ years experience in UX design, or a BA or MA in Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, or HCI.
-Effective communication skills (both in conversation and in writing), especially focused on articulating and defending design decisions.
-Ability to work with technology experts to uncover and understand technology requirements and capabilities as they relate to user experience.
-Use appropriate software (e.g., Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator or OminGraffle) to create professional-quality, well-designed deliverables to Method specifications.
-Effectively manage workload to meet deliverables within agreed-on timeframes.
