Overview
The Developer Intern role requires you to be passionate about and experienced in HTML, JavaScript, CSS and Ajax techniques, and the ability to produce code that adheres to best practices and web standards. Familiarity with back end languages such as PHP, Python or Ruby is also big plus. You will work closely with the Visual Design and Interaction Design teams to produce compelling, functional user interfaces and web applications.
This position will predominantly focus on end-user oriented applications that integrate with back-end systems. There will also be opportunities to develop for new and emerging platforms, tablet devices, and mobile.
Responsibilities
-Developing client side code which includes HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and
AJAX functionality.
-Following and tracking the latest advancements in the technology
landscape such as: HTML5, CSS3, and browser capabilities.
-Potentially developing server side code, which may include PHP, Python
or Ruby.
-Working closely with Visual Design and Interaction Design team
members to develop creative solutions for client problems.
-QA and bug tracking/fixing.
-Carrying out additional, unanticipated supplementary/complementary
tasks such as documentation and training for the client could be required.
Skills/Qualifications
-Education: Current enrollment in a related field of study.
-Highly organized and detail-oriented multi-tasker.
-Ability to debug legacy client side code as needed.
-Experience with CMS, Social Networking Platforms and eCommerce
platforms are a plus.
-Ability to find efficient and effective solutions to complex problems.
-Strong sense of ownership of process and results.
-Familiarity with LAMP web development.
-Working knowledge with any of the following: Wordpress, Ruby on
Rails, Drupal, or Django
