OverviewThe Art Director is responsible for the development, and direction of creative deliverables for the projects they are assigned to. Consulting with the Design director, the Art Director will ensure that the design team and other production specialists (Flash animators, audio designers, etc) are successful in: developing concepts, implementing design strategies, and producing interactive and brand-design solutions. He or she will balance creative thinking, interpersonal skills, and client expectations to successfully translate concepts into functional design deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities-Acting as team lead, create, as well as direct, junior and senior designers in the development of strategic design deliverables that elevate, differentiate, and function on-brand and on-strategy.
-Exemplify the ability to challenge yourself and the design team to create progressive, inspiring, and relevant visual design solutions.
-Ensure quality control of all creative deliverables.
-Work closely with strategists, user experience designers, and technologists – playing the role of “design advocate” for the voice of the design.
-Work closely with other Art Directors to resolve issues and maintain the quality of Method’s creative deliverables.
-Provide design-mentorship to junior and senior level designers by exposing them to new challenges, decisions, and meetings.
-Lead the development of internal and client facing presentations in conjunction with other team members.
-Juggle several projects simultaneously.
-Stay abreast of current design trends and technologies and continually share this knowledge.
Qualifications-An exceptional portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions.
-5+ years experience in design consulting, spanning multiple industries and at least 3 of following project types: print communications, brand & identity, web experiences, interactive web applications, and product interface design.
-BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent experience.
-A deep understanding of type use, development, and classification.
-A strong understanding of grid systems, composition, and color, with a keen eye for typography, and meticulous attention to detail.
-A passion for clean, functional and outstanding design.
