Sean McGrath joined Method's creative team in August of 2005. In conjunction with Method’s Chief Creative Officer, Sean leads creative development in Method’s San Francisco studio, ensuring the consistent delivery of beautiful, purposeful, and highly functional design across an ever-expanding range of mediums and platforms. He manages the day-to-day creative process while fostering a hands-on, collaborative environment within Method, not only with his own creative team, but across the entire studio.
While at Method, Sean has put his skills to the test across a wide variety of disciplines, from corporate identity and print collateral to product UI and web design. His work spans a diverse range of industries and market sections, from high-end luxury brands (Trussardi, Mikimoto, Maybach) to technology innovators (Plantronics, Pinger) to major consumer brands (Nike, Microsoft Zune). Recent work has included application development for Google’s Android platform, a multi-platform identity system for the San Francisco International Film Festival, and website concepting and design for CNN’s iReport user generated content portal.
Prior to joining the Method team, Sean worked for several San Francisco-based firms, including Templin Brink Design and Landor Associates. He particularly enjoyed working with consumer and retail brands, with clients including Apple, Target, West Elm, and Levi Strauss.
Sean graduated summa cum laude with a BFA in Graphic Design from Ohio University. His work has been recognized in several editions of the Graphis Design Annual, the Pixel Awards 2008, HOW’s Creativity Annual 2007, Print's Regional Design Annuals 2005 and 2006, and numerous other competitions.
