Director of User Experience, Raphael Grignani, joins AIGA’s Y16 Conference speaker line-up.

For his talk, Raphael will be discussing the expectation for brands to be “social,” and what this means for companies.

The current standards for social (Twitter, Facebook, RenRen) require companies to develop a compelling public point-of-view and become content creators and distributors, even if this is not their expertise. Raphael explore how designers can help brands meet these expectations through the creation of products and services that provide consumers relevant and meaningful value – and experiences with the brand – that can grow over time. Whether this is utilizing existing platforms or creating new uses, we are challenged as designers to explore what “social” really means, comprehend/evaluate its broader implications, and consider the corporate social and ethical responsibilities of brands.

How can designers use “social” to create useful, valuable, and lasting benefits for both brands and consumers?

Additionally, Raphael and Method’s design lead, Mario Porto, will be leading a hands-on Thinkshop to actively explore designing for social engagement at the Y16 Conference.

The conference is March 26-26 in San Diego, California. Register now!
